The famous São Julião (St. Julian) cherries, a speciality from Portalegre, keept in a glass jar with "aguardente" (the equivalent to Portuguese vodka). To eat straight from the jar, use in cocktails or alongiside meat dishes.

A special Maruan brand, from gourmet purveyor Sequeira Nunes Lda, founded in the 1920's in the region of Marvão.
