Maria do Amparo, mother of journalist Mario de Castro, grew up in Alentejo, before meeting her future husband in 1940 to settle in Porto. At home, she cooked for her whole family meals based on the multiple influences of Portuguese cuisine. About the author: Mario de Castro writes about different lifestyle topics, from architecture to food for various international publications, such as Maison Française - Maison Madame Figaro to Elle Deco UK or The World of Interiors. His life is spent between Portugal where he was born and the city of Paris, where he has lived for over thirty years. For this book, he spent endless hours with his mother in the cuisine, conducting interviews and perfecting recipes.
